What better reading buddy is there to snuggle up with than the book character itself?!

Ladybug Girl has been a favorite character of my 3 year old daughter for quite a while and the Ladybug Girl doll she received as a gift was the first introduction we had the MerryMakers company. Her Ladybug Girl doll has got a lot of love over the years! Dolls and other toys based off of TV or movie characters are abundant, but I love having the opportunity to see a favorite book character come alive instead.
MerryMakers has many different wonderful offerings and my kids loved looking through their catalog to see which toys they were most excited about. My son picked Fly Guy since he has been a fan of the books for quite a while–first as books I could read aloud to him and now as books he can read on his own!

We were also excited to receive these character dolls from The Questioners book series by Andrea Beaty. This series is a wonderful look at different students in a fictional second grade class who each have a different passion and learn important lessons about hard work, being inquisitive, and following your dreams.

It was so fun to snuggle up on the couch with my two oldest kids, the stack of books from this series, and Rosie Revere and Ada Twist dolls right along with us! My kids love pointing out where the characters cross into each other’s stories and we’ve made our guesses about which characters might get their own feature next!
I’ve been doing some planning/dreaming for a home library when we move into a new house in the fairly near future and I’m hoping to have a children’s area in it where we can have lots of picture books, some comfortable places to read, and plush book characters to snuggle. These MerryMakers toys are the perfect start to that plan!

A couple other MerryMakers toys on our wish list:
–A crayon from The Day the Crayons Quit (a favorite picture book in our house!) would be the perfect addition for our home library or preschool area.
-My 3 year old has been begging for this Huggy Kissy doll from Leslie Patricelli’s beloved board books
-This Chester Raccoon from the classic The Kissing Hand is so sweet!
