Review:

This story has a sweet grandparent relationship, an encouragement for imagination, some nautical adventures, and beautiful illustrations.

I love the ways the little boy uses his imagination to create his own adventures.  When his grandfather comes into the story it was touching to see how they explored and imagined the world together.

The illustrations are so evocative that I wasn’t surprised to read in the author/illustrator bio that he has worked on famous movies at Pixar.

It was a very enjoyable story, although not one that captured my kids enough that they requested reading it over and over again.
